Thank you for visiting "Disposal of the Apprentices". This site forms a research project into informal learning and Social Informatics and in particular the collaborative use of WIKIs. The content is produced by a group of individuals engaged in the project. The content is entirely fictional and any similarilty to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.

This project has been an excercise in collaborative story telling. It is a fictionalised account based on the collaborators experience of a difficult subject, namely bullying at work. Using creative writing as a medium, the participants were able to exorcise some negative feelings that had dogged them for some time. The participants had not used a WIKI before but found it quite intuitive and said they would be happy to do so again. The project was deemed to have been a great success in informal learning as the participants were able to learn from the differing narrative styles of one another. They also said they had learned something about story structure being able to start in the middle and work outwards towards the beginning and the end in a non linear fashion very unlike the usual methods of creating a work of fiction and in the end making changes in structure as and when needed.

It will soon be possible to join the email list which the collaborators used to help them collaborate on this story. Before opening this list we need to remove sensitive personal information. Watch this space.
